A page about me...

This is currently my favorite picture of me. :o)

I've gotten used to making websites finally...not about me tho. I've written about my kids, my husband, my kids, my family, my faith, my kids, my political views, did I mention my kids? :o) Anyway, thought I would add a little page about me. Can't promise that you won't see my hubby and kids here tho because they are a HUGE part of my life and I'm blessed to have them. With that, how about some organization?

I was born October, 1972 weighing 9 lb. 2 oz. and had a full head of dark hair. Too far back? Oh ok. How about the short version then basic stats?

I am the oldest of 9 children and am lucky enough to have young parents. We tease that my dad has more energy than all of his kids put together. When we vacation and even the teenage boys are ready to sit down, without fail, my dad will want to see what's over the next hill. Tho we grumble due to achy feet and the heat, we love his enthusiasm. My parents move a lot. This has been a royal pain when it comes to actually getting to see them but it has allowed us to see more of the country.

Quick intro of my family, tho if you've seen any of my sites, you've met them already. Ok. There is my mom and dad, wonderful parents and are in love now more than they were when they met at 15 (?). Been married 29 years. As I stated, I am their eldest. I am married to David, a programmer and we have two children, Josh and Danny. Next in line is Colleen. Now the phrase "next in line" is quite literal. Growing up, whenever someone would meet the gang for the first time, we had to line up, in order, like in the sound of music. No whistle tho. :) Ok...where was I? Oh. Colleen is next and she is married to Martin a football fanatic, collector of movies and star wars memorabilia and works as a manager of a Christian bookstore. Coll was given a new title and, of course, for the life of me can't remember what it is called. She works for Quik Trip tho and loves getting to meet new people. She is the one we refer to as "the nice sister." Next is Alexis, she is the "baby" girl and recently married Lonny. They have a cute little apartment and are both currently working in their field. Imagine that, going to college and actually working at something you studied! (I have a Bachelolor of LIberal Arts aka BLAh and stay home). Alexis is the "favorite child. She's been stuck with that since she was little due to the fact that she never got in trouble and was usually successful getting the rest of us in trouble. She is also the peacemaker, tends to like to keep everybody happy. While an admirable quality, she sometimes accepts things simply to keep the peace and ends up not totally happy but would rather be disappointed than disappoint someone else. Ok. That is the top 3. Significant for a couple of reasons. First reason, we are built in babysitters and have been for a long time. The other reason is that the doctor, after Alexis, told my parents that they would never have a boy. Evidently, once you have 3 in a row, your chances for a different gender are slim.

Medicine being what it is, an imprecise science, the next 5 children were boys. Jake, Adam, Conor, Timothy and Micah. All bigger than me now, of course, but if they need to be put in line, a reminder of who exactly changed their diapers and gave them their baths usually gets them quiet. Honestly, I have the nicest brothers around. They are wonderful uncles and play with and teach my children. Timothy is the one that everyone seems to think looks the most like me. Poor guy. :) Actually, he's a cutie but don't tell him. It will only inflate his ego. The guy version looks a lot better tho. :o) He also is the one person that can tickle me. I am not a ticklish type person but Tim knows exactly what part of my knee to grab and I drop. Drives me bonkers but makes me laugh. :) Jake is the oldest and fairly quiet, there's a silly side there too, he just hides it better than the rest of us. He is currently dating a girl named Halle who is an absolute sweetheart. She won over the sisters immediately and even our mom, who is even pickier about who her sons date than their sisters are. Adam has been dating Ondrea for 3 years (???). They are a totally cute couple and crack me up. Both stubborn and opinionated, they remind me a bit of how Dave and I were dating. Ondrea is, of course, cute as a button. She's got a great smile and is really a lot of fun. She also seems to get the seal of approval from the gang. We all love her. :) Next brother is Conor. Conor is the one I describe as "the genius"...because he is. He is also nice and cute (kinda a blonde Eric Stoltz but cuter). He is dating Caryn and due to long distance, I don't really know her very well, but if Conor picked her, she's gotta be cool. :o) Conor is working as a youth minister of sorts at a scholar's college. Timothy aka Timmy is brother #4 and a giant. He is also an amazing pianist and I really wish I had a cd of his playing because it's always one of things I miss most after a visit "home." Last of the boys, but certainly not least, is Micah. You may have met him online as Enry or the Great Cowfish. He is a talented artist, writer, and web designer. He has the greatest imagination and his stories are truly my favorite stories on earth. They are unique and goofy and can always make me laugh. I am beginning to feel like Enry and Fenry are actually alive. Yep, the writing is that good. :o) He is also a poet and has his own set of cow cartoons which are terribly funny, even when I don't get the joke, they make me smile. He taught my son to read (first word was cow, of course) and helped me out as my "nanny" after my 2nd son was born. Thanks again for the help. :o)

Now, we've already established that science isn't always right. When mom and dad pulled us all aside for "the talk" (which in my family is....another kid is coming), we all told them that another sibling would be totally cool but PLEASE let it be a girl? Poor Tim was too old to be suckered into wearing a dress and we needed a new doll. December of 1989, along came Miss Madeleine. She is stubborn and cute and has a mouth. Basically, she is all the sisters combined then amplified. I am already praying for the man that chooses her as his mate. He is gonna need a lot of strength. :o) My mom teases that I deserve to have a girl exactly like Maddie because, evidently, she is a lot like I was. I think that's a compliment most of the time. :) She is a great aunt and is adored by my children. On occasion, Josh will insist we go to Maddie's house which being a 9 hour drive doesn't happen terribly often. Ok. Wow. For my first page about me, I didn't say much about me. Guess this is why I say that my family has a lot to do with who I am and what I believe.
