My family is an incredibly important part of my life. I am the oldest of nine children with three sisters and five brothers. We’ve always been close and that’s been very cool. I grew up knowing that there was always someone there to listen. Now, there was also always someone to tease or be teased by, to fight with or drive batty. We are all human and had disagreements growing up. Never anything life shattering tho. My parents wouldn't tolerate violence and, frankly, it never really seemed to even appeal to any of us. Now, partly because we knew if we hit Colleen, she’d hit back and twice as hard. If you are ever sitting next to her and a VW Bug drives by? Run. Trust me. :o)

We range from 1 ½ years apart to 5 years apart with an average span of about 2 years between each. By the time my parents were my age, they had 7 children and by the time they were 37 years old, they had nine of us from 17 down to an infant. We’ve heard all the jokes, some funny some not. Countless people have inquired as to our status in the Catholic church. I was always amazed that people knew what kind of church we went to without even asking and it wasn’t until years later that I understood why the question always resulted in a glare from my mother. Well, we are now growing up and are spread out across the country due to job transfers, tho the ultimate goal is to all live relatively close to each other. One decision I know most of us have made is that we are staying in the South! No more midwest winters. Only have to worry about snow when we choose to go find some.

In Georgia, there are 5 children. We are the oldest 5 and actually enjoy each other’s company on a social basis rather than obligatory. The 6th child, Conor, is currently attending school in Louisiana and is dating a girl named Caryn. He is also working with a youth ministry program and is growing into quite an eloquent and thoughtful young man.

The bottom 3 kids are in Virginia with our parents. Tim is a senior this year and Micah is a sophomore who does cartoons for the school newspaper. I will post a couple for you to see on this site. Madeleine, or Miss Mad, is going to be 11 soon and is a beautiful young lady. She’s a combination of all of her sisters, some say she got all the good, some say she got the difficult parts as well, and she definitely got a lot of Murphy.

Anyway, these are pages for my family. I’ve met tons of wonderful people online and this is the best way to introduce those I love to all my friends. I decided to make each kid a separate page because, although we are a unit, there are very individual tastes and even, at times, beliefs. Though in general we are a pretty conservative bunch, I’d say we range from moderate to extreme. Some of us have to "stir the pot" while others are "peacemakers." Conor has been referred to as a "roaring lamb". I like that description. Now, with that intro, enjoy the pictures of my favorite people in the world.
